Braidbar Boats have been building narrowboats for the discerning boater at historic Lord Vernon's Wharf for more than twenty years.

New hire boat for 2010

We have built a brand new narrow boat for the 2010 hiring season, and we have named her Islay. She has the same layout as our last hire boat 'Skye' which is still featured in our hire boat section, awaiting new photos of Islay to be taken.

Improvements to the boatyard

If you are planning to re-visit the boatyard you are in for a big
surprise. Lots of effort and manpower has gone into making the boatyard a site to be proud of. We have undertaken the replacement and re-building of the banking on both sides of our cut, providing a safe area to board to disembark the boats whilst moored up. We have also installed power to remove the need for trailing extension leads! The work started in early January in minus 6 degrees! We have also extended and renovated the paint dock which looks much smarter now and much better to work in. We also at last have a lovely new company sign on the top of the dock!
